Bronze Award:   70%+

This is for us where a really good product is separated from above  average products. At 70% the product being reviewed has to either excel in one area and be a certain standard in the rest, or it needs to be good in all categories covered in its review.

Silver Award:   80%+

80% is where you start to see the products that you shouldn't be taking lightly. These are clear contenders in their market and unless you have a serious reason for not choosing them, they should ALL be in your list of candidates to buy.

Gold Award:   90%+

At this stage the products that have achieved this award are about as perfect as most products will ever be, save for maybe one or two TINY and I mean tiny issues, these products designs will have been constantly refined and reviewed prior to them even being released to the point where we would almost have to physically hunt for issues to make us sound unbiased.

Platinum Award:   100%

Platinum. An award we considered not even creating because in our eyes it was unachievable for almost every product. Like Excalibur and The sword in the stone, this award can only be taken by the righteous king. So far only 1 product has ever received this award and we expect that for the next few years we will not see a new heir to this award.*

*Unless this page has been updated recently statistics might not be 100% accurate. Also Products don't have to die before another product can win the award, it is just a play on the words. To add to that, once another product is awarded the platinum award it is not taken away from its previous products.

Others Awards:

This is our Editors Choice Award. We give this to products that the reviewer writing the review feels exceeds enough in one area or just has the right package for them to use in their own system/set-up. Think of it as a Boolean award, either the product is good enough for it or it isn't, there's no middle ground. Compared to the rating based awards, this award is entirely subjective and based upon the specific views of the reviewer. The review's conclusion on products awarded with this will explain what area this product exceeds in enough to be in the reviewers final line up had they been looking for a product in that price bracket.
