Review Policy:
HalTech aims to provide the highest quality of unbiased content both in written and video formats. As standard we provide an unboxing and overview style video on each product and then follow it up with a full written review that generally falls between 2000 and 4000 words long. If the product does not require such a long review it may be given a short covering review which varies somewhere between 500 and 1000 words.
On the other hand however if the product requires the spotlight a lot more, we may produce a video review, taking the main points made in the written review and portraying them to the viewer through video. This will be a decision made at HalTech's discretion due to time restraints. Most products over a certain value or feature 'density' will receive this.

Ethics:
At HalTech we hold to strict ethics on all the content we put out to the public. No lines are blurred between advertisements and our subjective content.
We hold to such strict ethics so that not only can our audience have faith knowing that the content we create is pure and genuine, but also that the manufacturers we work with aren't being unfairly treated.
- we do not accept any form of financial imbursement for our reviews beyond the product we are reviewing.
- We will not accept a product for review if we are forced to provide more marketing content on that product beyond what is already stated or that would be construed as unfair. We do provide more than just reviews on products such as system build projects (see here.) but these are an exception from the norm and are something we will offer and discuss with you rather than be demanded to provide.
- We will not accept payment for awards or for 'improvements' to be made to our reviews.
- All reviews are published first prior to being sent to the manufacturers so that no outside influence occurs.

Sample Ownership
Ownership of the sample product in question will be agreed upon prior to each product is reviewed.
Temporary Loan Samples:
1 Week LoanThis is a very short loan period we have started to introduce aimed towards manufacturers with vast product ranges. With this loan period we will not produce a subjective written review on the products in question but we will provide an unboxing and in-depth overview of the product. It is designed for use with multiple products loaned at once for a short period of time. for example if we are provided with six products we can still produce content on all products but still have even up to a 1 day turnaround. With this Loan period you are practically guaranteed to have the products back within the week, perfect for marketing departments with a vast client base.

4 Week LoanThis is the typical loan period we ask for when fully reviewing a product. While our average turnaround will be faster than 4 weeks, this is just so if we have a ton of products to review, we have a little bit of wiggle room to work with so we won't miss our deadlines.
With this loan period we will provide both an unboxing and overview style video as well as a full in-depth written review on the product and potentially a video review too. Both the 1 week and 4 week loan options have their merits, one being to cover a larger product range and this to focus and provide a spotlight on a particular product within that range. |
Delivery and Collection of all loan products must be both financed and organised by the company supplying the product to us for review. Unless an extended loan has been discussed and agreed upom, if we have not been provided with some form of returning the product to you within an appropriate time from the point of the content being published(6 months), HalTech will assume that the product review has been marked as payment, see below for details.
Permanent Loan Samples:
These products are products that remain property of the manufacturer even after review however they are not returned to the manufacturer as a temporary loan would. These products we will provide the same content as the 4 week loan and the review payment samples(Below), as we have been provided with enough time to produce this content. As property of the manufacturer, we will not hold the right to sell on or give away these products and as such the products will remain in storage by us for further use in future reviews or relevant content. The small issue we have with these products are storage based. If the product is of a certain value to us and our reviews, regardless of ownership we would keep the product for future review purposes but if it is not, we have to struggle to store it and it serves little benefit to our future content in the same way funding our future reviews and website expansion would.
Review Payment Samples:
The majority of the products that fall into this category are more budget orientated where the shipping may cost more than the actual product. Unless a loan agreement has not been specifically stated prior to the product being sent for review it will be assumed the product falls into this category and that the review will act as payment of the product. With these products we will act in the same manner as the '4 week loan products', producing an unboxing and overview style video along with a full in-depth written review. Again if the product requires it we will also produce a video review on the product.
With these products, after the content has been published, HalTech will decide what to do with it. The product may be kept as a sample to compare for future reviews in the same market, it may be given away or it may be sold on to help cover HalTech's website expenses. Why Review payment Samples help us:
HalTech just like any other website has expenses. Every second we keep the content we have created up and available to the public it costs us and so for us to continue to keep the reviews we have created for you available, we need to make money. Allowing us to keep the products as payment for the review opens many doors for us as it means we can either expand on our reviews using them to compare products to or we can use them in giveaways, both of which help expand ours and in turn your audience. Or with some of them we can sell them on (mainly locally and when storage has become an issue) and use those funds to go towards website maintenance and/or upgrading our equipment to create even higher quality content for you in the future. Review Sample Agreement
Please make clear when organising samples for us to review, the classification the review samples fall into. If all your future samples will fall into the same category let us know and we will keep this noted for future reference. This will keep us informed on what content we need to produce on the products and the steps we need to take following the publication of the review.
Also note that regardless of the category the sample falls into, unless it is a 1week loan as stated above, the product will receive the same care and treatment as well as the same content (unboxing video and written review minimum). 1 week loans receive less content due to their nature and intended purpose.
