11/2/2012

Comments

This fans explodes with quality. And its looks are all the way up there with the F12 but in its own way.
Picture
Here’s the spec:

  • Size 120 * 120 * 25
  • Connector 4pin Pwm
  • Bearing SSO
  • Minimum Speed 300rpm
  • Speed 1300rpm
  • Airflow 92,3 m³/h
  • Noise 19,8 dB(A)
  • Static Pressure 1,68 mm H2O
  • Speed w/ L.N.A 900 RPM
  • Airflow w/ L.N.A 63,4 m³/h
  • Noise w/ L.N.A 12,6 dB(A)
  • Static Pressure w/ L.N.A 1,21 mm H2O
  • Max Input Power 0.6w
Design: Being a fan designed for airflow this fan features a 9 blade design.

To the people who don’t know what they do, they help spread out the air as its moving through the fan to help lower any noise produced by air passing through the fan.

Although compared to the NF-F12 this fan doesn’t have as many features it does feature an SSO bearing which is still better than most fans on the market currently.

As well as that it features a custom designed PWM chip with ‘Smooth communication drive technology’ making this fan perfect for silent operation in a system designed around being super quiet.

They are so confident in their design Noctua have given this fan and every other fan they make a 6 year warranty

Performance: In terms of performance this fan pushes an amazing amount of air through while remaining incredible quiet. Plug it into the low noise adapter and you wont even be able to hear it when running it in a case. This fan has the perfect noise to performance ratio out of any fan I have ever used.
Picture
Conclusion: This fan is almost the perfect case fan and maybe heatsink fan. It pushes a huge amount of air through while still managing to maintain its quiet operation. Just like with the NF-F12 I have to give it a 9/10 due to the limited colour choice and only a 8/10 due to the release of the corsair AF series fans at their current price point.

Verdict:

Rating- 9/10

Value- 8/10
